weekend away

September 25th is our wedding anniversary. Yes, happy 6th anniversary to Jonah and I. We were able to celebrate by going away for a couple of days. Jonah surprised me with a very lovely trip a couple hours out of Sevilla to a small mountain town. Grazalema is one of the famous spanish white towns. Whole towns painted white. Very picturesque. We stayed in a cozy mountain home hostal complete with swimming pool, although it was a bit chilly to use. We found the best spanish cured ham and cheese, they both melted in your mouth. I was able to catch up on much needed sleep. Sophia did well on her first weekend away. It was a very special treat. And a great way to celebrate the last 6 years.

sleep is overrated

I got 5 consecutive hours of sleep last night!!! no more, no less. This is a step forward to the usual 1-3 consecutive hours through the night. Unfortunately I couldn't get back to sleep so I am surviving on the 5 hours until I can (hopefully) have a nap later. But life is good and won't always be like this right? Pray that Sophia doesn't get the cold that has been making the rounds here. Jonah and I are trying not to come down with it. I'd like to wait several more weeks before Sophia has her first cold, but oh well, I'm sure we will get through it whatever happens.

blog worries

I am concerned about the blog lately. I am finding little time to do normal, everyday things like taking a shower, eating and even getting out of bed difficult enough. Blogging seems to have dropped way down in priority on the list of things to do. When I do find that crumb of time to blog what of importance will I find to blog about. My life consists of trying desperately to get some sleep, breast feeding, changing nappies, grabbing bites to eat here and there and strategically fitting in a daily shower, and that's about it. Oh and watching Sex and the City while baby feeds, they have all 6 seasons on DVD at the local video store!!
I am concerned that the loyal few that read my blog are going to get bored of hearing yet again about the baby. I realize this is just a phase that won't last beyond several months?? but in the meantime, what do I do? continue to blog no matter how long it takes between entries or no matter how repetitious the topics?
OR do I take a break from blogging?

We are having a great time with our little girl out here in the world with us.
I feel like I have undergone a metamorphosis that I can best describe as going from a worm to a butterfly. I am essentially the same creature in a new, entirely different form. I can not go back to my former self. I had to sacrifice the old ways in order to experience the new way. And I totally love it. I feel very content. I think this was what I needed. I was getting a bit stale in my relationship with God, with others, with how I view the world, my passion. All of these are taking on a new twist with my transformation into being a parent. This is something that I think only happens with a few instances in life, when one finds a relationship with God, when one gets married or makes a lifelong commitment to someone, when one makes a permanant move to a new culture or country, and when one becomes a parent, to name the few that I know about. Does anyone relate to this or do you have some more examples of this type of metamorphosis taking place?
