Just another typical week.
Took Kati out for a poo and she caught me off guard mid poo and bolted after 3 Dog Lady with her pack of crazy black labs. Knocking me completely off my feet and dragging me by the leash with my face in the gutter into the intersection of our street. Luckily my body weight acted as an anchor and slowed her to a complete stand still. I was able to get back on my feet, assess damages, discipline Kati, have a little chat with 3 Dog Lady and safely make it back home with only minor bruising and shaky nerves. I landed on my left side so baby is ok but I did not sleep well that night from the soreness. 3 days later the soreness is nearly gone and I can once again sleep on my left side. I imagine labor will be worse than that.
Then when I came home to try to rest from that ordeal I was lying in bed and a huge chunk of heavy wood from the encasing of the persiana blinds in my room fell off the wall, crashing to the floor not a few feet from me.
Visited with 2 American couples who are thinking about moving to Spain and were looking for advice on how to best make the move.
Listened to upstairs neighbor old lady screaming like she was being tortured and yelling bad words all day long two days in a row. This happens periodically with the neighbors above us and we realize she must suffer from a mental disorder. We feel really bad for her and her family that lives with her but don't really know what we can do. Makes me wonder about the state of mental health programs here in Spain. We are praying for her at least.
Was invited to be a judge at a band contest semi finals. A panel of 6 of us had to choose two winners out of 4 bands to eventually play at a special youth festival in a couple months. I had a lot of fun listening to the bands, watching the audience, writing my critique and then announcing the results. I am really proud of myself for doing the bit at the end where I had to speak to the audience. I hate public speaking, especially in spanish, so it was a good challenge for me, and I think I did very well.
Oh, and Margaret and Neil have arrived safely. Today we took them to the Art Park to have a look at local artists displaying and selling their work, walked along the river with Kati, took them to El Paladar for a lovely, slow, spanish lunch sitting out on the sidewalk in the gentle sunshine. Tonight they are with Jonah at Bar Eslava for dinner. Should be excellent there as well. I opted out as a room full of cigarette smoke is not what I need right now.
Wow... just happened on your blog and it took me back... I arrived in Sevilla on Palm Sunday 27 yrs ago (dang, that's a long time) and spent part of that week there. It was a WONDERFUL experience. I always said that when I got married, that I wanted to get married in the spring so I could honeymoon in Sevilla. Well, that didn't happen - it was summer and we went to Bar Harbor, ME, but it was a nice dream. Enjoy!

So you think labor will be harder? Yes and yes BUT with mental, physical and spirit preparation it can also be amazing..so I hear but on the physical level..Ouch! Sorry you got dragged...bad Kati, no biscuit!
Make sure Margaret and Neil go see perfect butt Mercury :) that's necessary. Hope they have fun and safe travels back. And Bar Harbor area is totally great to honeymoon or celebrate any occaision..I oughta know, I'm an area resident.

Jatin-yeah, the contest was really fun...and Sevilla in the spring or autumn is the best time, thanks, yes, I am lucky to live here.
Bryan–yeah, you know, just the typical stuff ; ) the band I liked the best was kind of a Dave Matthews type band with violin and clarinet, music was great although the singing was weak, but the two that won were better tailored for the youth conference, one a 90's style edgy, alternative band, the other more rock, not my favorite but we thought the youth would enjoy them more.
Phil-well, Margaret and Neil made it to the Archeolgical Museum but...it was closed...they got there too late. So they missed out on one of the most perfect butts in art history. Would love to come see you guys and visit Bar Harbor again, so fun!
