One-Line Bio

California girl living out life long dreams in Spain.

Biography

Heather Lee Hustead Bailey
Born in 1970, I grew up in Bakersfield, California, USA. Mom and Dad are John Hustead and Dixie Hustead and I have 3 younger brothers, Zane, Cody and Ward. Grew up in a conservative, christian family but didn't let that stop me from going wild and crazy in my teens. Then a nervous breakdown in my roaring twenties put that whole era to a roaring halt and I had to reassess things like who I was, what I was doing and where I was going. I put my trust and hope in a God that I had always thought beforehand to be as real as Santa Claus. Things began to improve little by little from then until now.
A lifelong desire to one day live overseas and do humanitarian work eventually brought me to Spain where I did a 6 month bible school in Madrid. The last day of the school an attractive young man who had been on staff of the school asked to chat with me and ended up asking me to be his girlfriend. One month later he asked me to marry him and 6 months after that we were married in California. Jonah has lived in Spain now for 11 years and I have lived here with him for the last 6 years. We are actually from the same town in California and knew all the same people growing up but never met until just a year and a half before I came to Spain to do the bible school.
We are currently based in Sevilla, Spain and work extensively with three christian charities, YWAM, 24-7 Prayer and a charity that we started here in Sevilla called Triburbana. I have recently given birth to our first child, Sophia Rose. In my spare time I am a writer, musician and artist.
